Jasná - Chopok is the largest ski resort in Slovakia with excellent conditions for winter sports and offers endless opportunities for activities, entertainment and active recreation. Ski resort Malinô Brdo (545 - 1209 m n.m.) is located in the region of Lower Liptov, on the slopes of the Great Fatra. It is a suburban center of Ružomberok, 2 km away. Malinô Brdo offers skiing on 12 km of slopes of varying difficulty, while the maximum descent is one of the longest in Slovakia - up to 3.9 km. The resort has built a system of technical snowmaking, which covers about 50% of the tracks. The transport capacity reaches 7600 people per hour, while the transport is provided not only by the cable car, 4-seater and 7 lifts. Ski centrum Opalisko you will find behind the village Závažná poruba near Liptovský Mikuláš. Lyžiarske stredisko Ziar Dolinky lies at the foot of the southern slopes of the Western Tatras, 10 km from Liptovský Mikuláš, at the end of the village Žiar. The resort is suitable for beginners as well as intermediate skiers. There are 2 ski lifts with two slopes in operation and maintained daily, one of which is mechanically snowed.
